Miss inspiration Nepal Australia

1. How is life before and after winning the title? Any changes?

Life is going on in the same way as it was before. Bit more of reorganization and exposure in Nepalese society is what I have noticed after winning this title. This has led me to do my best to co-operate with Australian Society as it changed my life in a positive way. So want to embrace it to the fullest.

2. A bit about yourself?

Currently, I am studying hair dressing, which is now in the verge of completion. I am also working as sales assistance in a departmental store. For my personal interests, I am actively involved in different kind of social work, which keeps me occupied in my spare time.

3. Are you happy that people recognize you as Miss Inspiration Nepal Australia (MINA) 2009 in social gatherings? Do you expect more?

I love going to different kind of events and social gathering. “I am literally a party animal”. And knowing that people recognize me makes me feel happy.  Seeing my name on the guest list also makes me proud. However, this has added some responsibility on me as well, as people out there do expect something from me.

That being said, due to very few media around, I think we still lag a fair bit in the exposure and promotion for those kinds of events.

4. “I found that you like social work”, what kind of social work are you into?

Miss inspiration Nepal AustraliaFrom my childhood I was keen in social work. I started with “Bhaktapur Mahile Magar Sang” when I was 14 years old. This couldn’t be continued due to school and SLC exam. After moving to Australia, I was involved in cultural programs, then after winning the pageant I started few social works. Being the executive member of NRN (Non- Residence of Nepalese), I am actively involved in blood donation and fund-raising activity for hospitals. Also working on a few more projects lately.

5. How many Nepalese related communities are there in Sydney, any idea?

Yes, there are many community related organizations in Sydney but I know few of them. Magdi Samaz, Tamu Samz, NRN, NADF are some amongst many I can remember at the top of my head right now. They used to invite me to deliver some guest speech, which makes me feel conceited.

6. Were you interested in modeling field from your childhood or is this something you bumped into lately?

Miss inspiration Nepal AustraliaYes, I was very much into this field from my childhood. I was offered some music videos back in Nepal.  But as you know due to society and their thinking, I couldn’t make it. After coming here, my well-wishers encouraged me to take part in MINA (2009), which in-fact turned out to be fruitful for me.

7. Do you think the busy life of Sydney will hamper your beauty – stress and all that?

In my view, beauty is not something that can be defined by appearance; it’s all within the heart.  Yes, definitely hard work and stress can hamper your outer look and it does by age as well. However, this can be best described by how the person is within. Being busy makes me occupied and I get to meet and know so many beautiful people around along with work. So this actually makes me beautiful from inside I guess :) .

8. Tell me something about your family? Are they here whit you or back in Nepal?

In Sydney I leave with my husband and I have one son who back in Nepal. The only thing I miss when I am free is my son. This is when busy lifestyle has some advantage and keeps me quite occupied. “Empty mind is Devil’s workshop” so I as much get into social work and meeting friends to have a chit chat about what to do in near future. I love my family to death. Also, in some social gatherings, I take my husband if he is free and in some functions I go alone.

9. Have you noticed any changes in Nepal from your recent visit? Also, are you being recognized there as well?

Well, yes few relatives came over to congratulate on my achievement. But truly speaking, there weren’t any interview kinds of stuffs. I went to Adopt Organization that Nirvana Events promised to help and from my personal side I helped them as well. Due to my short time I couldn’t notice any remarkable changes but yes seems lot of things to be done.

10. Any motivational words for youngsters out there wanting to move in this field?

Yes, if people are interested then they should come in front and participate in these kinds of events, so that their talent won’t go in vain. Moreover there are lots of agencies both Nepalese and Australian, where they can make their portfolio and kick start their future. Having that strength and passion, both genders can be successful in this field.

11. What are your future plans to make a mark on this field?

Recently  we formed one group called (Dristy) with group members – Ashma Acharya, Arati Shakya and we are organizing event called “ Miss Teen Australia 2010” in August, expecting 1000 people. As you know in Grandville there are lots of Nepalese so we are anticipating getting some people who will participate in this event. We have also started to contact all the media who can help make this event a success.
